Vintage Watch Blog.
A good watch accessory for people who purchase fine watches can be a best friend. Let's face it, you can spend thousands on a fine watch or a number of fine watches and it's nice to have some quality accessories for traveling, storage or simply keeping the watch safe and clean.
Our leather watch pouch is everything we wanted. There are a few requirements we had when thinking about offering pouches and finding an exceptional source. First, they had to be hand-crafted (hand cut, worked and stitched); second, they must be made in the USA and third, we wanted them to be high quality but simple in design.
After dozens of calls and emails, looking at samples... finally we found the craftsman capable of making what we wanted and delivering a fine product. Hand-crafted in California, these pouches are worthy of storing any fine wristwatch or pocket watch and offers a decent level of protection against shock and the elements.
To introduce these pouches, we are offering them at a special price. Since they are hand-crafted, supplies are limited. You can check them out and read more about our watch pouches by visiting our watch pouch page. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to email us or connect on social media.
Rolex GMT-Master II 116710
Yes, a vintage guy may like modern watches. In fact, it may surprise most of you to know that my personal collection of vintage watches are mostly special occasion watches and these modern marvels get most of my wrist time. The Rolex GMT-Master is one of my favorite watches that Rolex makes. Functional and beautiful, this watch is my accessory of choice when traveling due to its dual time-zone functionality and a great jeans and t-shirt watch that will add a level of sophistication to any casual attire.
Zenith Stratos Flyback Chronograph
Once in a while I will take guilty pleasure in wearing a massive watch. The Zenith Stratos fits the bill at 45.5MM. If I'm ever stranded without a proper dinner plate, this watch could come in handy; which makes this my watch of choice when setting out on an adventure. All kidding aside, this is a stunning watch and a great homage to the Zenith Rainbow which is why it is perhaps one of my favorite chronographs on earth. It doesn't hurt that Zenith utilizes their crown jewel El Primero chronograph movement - one of just a few of the most significant chronograph movements ever created.
A trend is starting to set-in, here is another phenomenal chronograph that gets my attention quite often. The Rolex Daytona in stainless and 18k gold is a watch that can be worn with anything and at anytime. If I'm not sure where my day or week may take me, the Rolex Daytona is a great choice. This watch holds its own with a fine suit, tux, jeans & T - whatever you throw at it this baby is ready. I would also say that this Rolex Daytona has gathered the most complements than any other watch over the years. So if I don't want to draw any unwanted attention - I sit this baby in the corner.
Omega Speedmaster Professional
I love watches with a moonphase indicator; not because it's often that I need to know the current phase of the moon, but because they just look awesome! This Omega Speedmaster is my favorite sports watch in my collection. At 42MM and a fairly thin profile, it fits perfectly on my wrist. The white dial (sometimes off white) is gorgeous and a welcome change from the many black dials that I have. This is my everyday watch that I wear most of the time. The manual winding Lemania base movement keeps perfect time well within chronometer standards. And although this Speedmaster isn't the one certified by NASA while space traveling (due to its sapphire crystal) - it's certainly the one I'm going to be wearing when the time comes to blast off to the moon.
