Terms and Conditions - Purchasing an item from AdamVintage is an acceptance of our terms and conditions.
Each item is subject to a detailed inspection prior to listing on this website and every description is accurate and based on the findings of the inspection. All photographs are of the article for sale and are accurate, unmodified images of the timepiece or item. Photographs are considered part of the description and should be inspected carefully prior to purchase commitment.
As many of our watches are one-of–a-kind, once purchased, we may not have similar stock available (although we may be able to source specific items on demand). We recommend therefore that buyers act promptly to secure their purchase.
Making a Purchase:
To purchase a watch, simply browse through our collection. For additional information and photographs of any product, click on the image. Should you wish to make a purchase, click on the add to cart button and you will be redirected to our payment processor, Paypal or Secure Check Out, to complete your purchase. Upon request, we will offer a 6 month layaway with a $10 fee; to know your payment amounts take the cost of the item, add $10 and divide by six. This is not an option at checkout, you must contact us to make this arrangement. Domestic checks are accepted by mail; however, we will hold the item for 10 business days or until we can verify the clearance of the check whichever comes first. To purchase a watch using a check, please contact us and we will invoice you instead of a credit card checkout.
Shipping and Handling:
Items are packaged, packed and shipped within two working days of receipt of payment unless otherwise communicated to you. Because our systems monitor the performance of the watch for 12hrs prior to shipping, sometimes we will make an adjustment or repair prior to shipment at no cost to you. We prevent, in every way possible, receiving a watch that does not meet or exceed your expectations. This may delay your shipment; however, in these rare cases, we will notify you so that you know what repair/adjustment we are making and how much time it will take. Please note that for security reasons, your package may be double boxed. The inside box may have a security device warning label on it. The buyer may open the box without any problems. For delivery within the USA items are sent using USPS, FedEx or UPS. USPS delivery method covers insurance of your product against loss or damage during transit and the package may be tracked. For UPS and FedEx, our primary insurance company, Parcel Pro, insures your package. UPS or FedEx tracking may be available upon request. Some areas of the USA are considered "Hot Spots" for shipment fraud. Miami, FL is an example of this. If you are located in a hot spot, please note that the shipment may be delivered to an armored car service local to you first, and then the car service will hand deliver your package to its final destination. There is no additional charge for this service. Domestic shipments in which the identity of the buyer cannot be verified, will require the same level of verification as international shipments. Please read about international shipments if you have any questions. We will notify you promptly if verification is required prior to dispatch of your purchase.
International Shipments
We can ship to most international destinations. Some destinations are "black listed" by our insurance company - if you are unable to check out, you may be in an area that we cannot ship/insure to. Please contact us if this is happening and we will confirm or update our system to allow the purchase if we can insure to your destination. Packages to international destinations are sent via FedEx Express with signature required and fully insured for your purchase price. Any and ALL taxes, duties and custom fees are the buyers / recipients / importers responsibility. The buyer must pay these. If the buyer and/or recipient fails to pay these and takes delivery of the watch or other item, we will be notified and required to file a customs incident report and you will be in violation of your countries laws. Please be diligent to make sure you pay these if your country requires them to be paid. Any returns (to AdamVintage) international unpaid taxes, duties, fees etc are subject to a partial refund. The partial refund will be the sale price minus any taxes, duties or fees of any kind that have been levied and unpaid on the package by the import OR exporting country as well as a 10% restocking fee. This could add up to a significant amount of money. If you are not sure about your shipping address country laws regarding this, please check your country's and local municipal laws/taxes prior to purchase. Fraud Protection
AdamVintage uses an advanced fraud protection system to prevent fraudsters using stolen credit card or account information from purchasing items on our site. Although uncommon, if our system raises any red flags we will contact you via the email provided during checkout for more information and previous purchase references only if the transaction goes through. This will delay shipping. AdamVintage and our payment processors reserve the right to cancel and refund any purchase transaction that we are not comfortable with; without notice or explanation. If your credit/debit card is declined during checkout, please contact your card issuer to resolve or try PayPal checkout as an alternative. AdamVintage reserves the right to protect our assets from fraud by individuals, credit card processors, card issuers or any entity that threatens our business assets; we will take any and all measures including immediately filing of criminal charges, the implementation of a private investigation or any legal action we see fit. We are resolved in seeing fraudsters be prosecuted for their crimes against small business and we will go the extra mile to see that it happens. We are also resolved in holding corporations responsible for their lack of fraud and information protection for consumers and merchants; any unfair decisions regarding fraud investigations will be made public.
Delivery Date:
Quoted delivery dates represent an estimated rather than a guaranteed arrival. Although items are packed and dispatched within two working days of cleared payment, exact delivery date is determined by the carrier. AdamVintage cannot be held liable for delays in delivery due to the carrier, natural disasters or inadequate/incomplete delivery information to name a few. Our fraud detection systems are powerful and work very well; therefore, no changes in delivery options are allowed via UPS or FedEx. If you need to make a delivery option change, such as "please allow me to pick-up at my local UPS Store", you must contact us in order to change delivery options. UPS or FedEx will refuse to do so; save yourself some time and we can do this quickly for you. An explanation may be required; please indicate the explanation when you contact us for the change. Warning to fraudsters - if you have any intention of credit card fraud or any other type of fraud don't bother placing an order. First, our secure checkout will catch 99.999% of fraudulent transactions. If somehow you get a order through from a stolen or unauthorized credit card, we are notified within 4-6 hours. We have the ability and will stop packages in transit and have them sent back and the order is canceled. You, your address, and any and all information such as IP addresses and other proprietary background information will be provided to the credit card companies and local and state authorities automatically. If you are a fraudster, we highly recommend not attempting to place an order. You will be prosecuted or arrested; I have seen this happen over the years - it's no joke. Our clients with no intention of fraud have nothing to worry about.
Guarantee:
Each of our watches comes with a limited 90-Day parts and labor guarantee. Please note however, that the guarantee will be invalidated should the timepiece had been mistreated or tampered with and/or worked on by a third party watchmaker. Furthermore, some of the watches we offer may have originally been water resistant – due to their age we cannot guarantee this remains the case and the watch must be removed when bathing/swimming etc. The guarantee will be invalidated should the watch be damaged through water/moisture penetration or any other damage while out of our possession. In general, most watches are suitable for everyday use and can withstand rain and normal elements. The guarantee does not cover the watch's timekeeping in any way - meaning, if your watch requires regulation to keep appropriate time (which can happen after shipping) this guarantee does not cover such a request. It is at the sole discretion of AdamVintage, after inspection of a guarantee request, if the watch will be covered in full or partially. In many cases of bad time keeping upon arrival, it is caused by the watch becoming partially magnetized during shipping. A demagnetizer is highly recommended to have on hand if you are a frequent buyer of vintage watches. If you do not know the proper way to demagnetize a watch, do not perform the task as it may damage it further. Please contact us for instructions. Due to the nature of our goods, there are no implied warranties. All watches are guaranteed as to their authenticity and description (which includes photographs) at the time of sale. We do not sell fake watches. We do not sell altered watches unless noted in the description. We do not sell pieced together watches that look good but are not a real model. This is one of the largest benefits of shopping through a reputable dealer. For example, if I were to search for inventory on any of the major auction sites, I would have to look at thousands of watches to find a couple good ones. The market is flooded with counterfeit or dramatically altered watches. You will not find that at AdamVintage. We stand behind our products 100%.
Refunds and Cancellations:
We have a no-nonsense policy towards domestically shipped and purchased refunds/cancellations. If, once you have received your order or before you order is shipped, you are not satisfied in any way, you may cancel your purchase. You must notify us within three business days from receipt of the product. The item(s) must be returned to us in its original condition and packaging, together with any associated paperwork, boxes, etc. Products that are modified in any way (such as polishing or crystal replacement) prior to dispatch per the request of the buyer, the sale becomes final and no returns are accepted. This policy excludes modifying or changing the watch strap, unless sold separately. We will not accept any returns outside of these parameters. Once received, we will undertake a detailed inspection to ensure all is in order and that the product is in the same condition as when dispatched. Any change in condition may result in a charge for refurbishment/repair necessary to restore the watch to the condition and working order in which it was sold. Returns are minus the original shipping costs and subject to a 10% restocking fee.
Notification for returns must be via our contact us page or by phone at +1 (413).219.1104. We regret that there will be no reimbursement for shipping costs for returns, which must have the appropriate level of insurance coverage, and will be at the buyers expense; or you may request a label from us and we will invoice you for actual shipping costs. Sometimes our shipping expense is much less because of terms we have with our shipping partners. We do make a mistake on very rare occasions, if you believe we have made a mistake, please describe this mistake on the Contact page and we will review your information in a timely manner. If we believe we have made a mistake, we may make an exception to the buyers return shipping cost liability and reimburse you for that expense not to exceed $25. We will not reimburse or pay for any other watchmaker to make a repair unless agreed upon prior by both parties. If a watch has a problem upon delivery, it must be shipped back to us for inspection because all our watches leave in working order and tested prior to packaging; therefore, a cause such as shipping mishandling may be a possible claim on insurance.
International purchases, which are defined as purchases made with a credit card issued in a country other than the United States of America (USA) and/or your package is being shipped to a country other than the USA are final sales. Your package will be sent insured Fedex express after you have VERIFIED YOUR IDENTITY. If something has happened to your purchase during the shipment process such as damage caused by shipment mishandling, your package is insured and you may file a claim to recoup any lost investment. Once the package is delivered, you should know that insurance ends at that time. All packages will require an adult signature. It is important to keep all original packaging as it is required for a shipping claim.
