This is an Elgin Grade 349 18s movement and quite scarce with less than 30k total made. If you were going to have one of these, this is one of the best examples of this watch. The dial of the Elgin appears perfect with no cracks or hairlines found. There are very few tiny chips or flakes around the edges, which is excellent. The movement is rare and in excellent condition with beautiful decoration and finishing. The movement along with the watch are both quite handsome and accessible for viewing. As all railroad watches are, this is lever set and stem wound. The Wadsworth case appears to be 10k or 14k yellow gold filled 20 year case. The case is in excellent shape with little wear and issues noted. The Inside of the case-back is dirty and tarnished. We do not use chemicals to clean cases due to the demands of the collectors, so the case inscription is tough to read. This does not have any affect on value. The watch comes as found with an era chain and real Indian head penny in decent shape as well. Looks nice and red, uncleaned. The watch was just serviced and is working excellent. There are no personal engravings, but a very well done design on the reverse. This is a great price for this over 100 year old railroad watch, with high grade 21 jewels for the time; that's impressive as well as other elements of the movement and its chain and FOB. This is a great deal.
