Early 1920's Illinois Manual Wind With Cool Cushion Case and Great Dial 17 Jewels
It's very hard to find these early Illinois wrist watches because they made so few of them since Hamilton bought Illinois shortly after wrist watches were becoming popular. What we love about this watch is that it has its original dial and hands, very uncommon on a piece this early. The movement is in great condition and has been recently serviced, keeping time within vintage standards. It appears the case is chrome over brass with a stainless steel back and bezel. There is brassing on the lugs and original crown as noted in the photos; although it is not a distraction of this handsome watch. The watch is a nice larger size for the period with 32mm diameter not including the crown and 38mm lug to lug end. It is done in a military style dial. In summary, this is a great pre-deco watch that is rare, original and has a clean movement. A great find for any collection.
