This impressive ladies pocket watch is beautifully hand engraved and then enameled ca. 1892. Of course back then everything was done by hand. This case in fantastic; done in full hunting style this has a hinged dust cover, back cover, and a hinged dial cover. Full engraving around the case edged and engraving hugging the dial. When you push down on the crown, the cover opens with great action, like it was just made. Speaking of condition, this watch has little to no wear noted; just some small superficial scratches like all watches that have been on a surface have. The hallmark on the case indicates 14k yellow gold filled. The porcelain dial is perfect with no problems noted. The watch was recently overhauled and is currently running at -2 sec / day with great altitude. That's modern chronometer specs! This movement is very rare with only 2900 made. It is also extremely high grade. Typically, during this era, the smaller the movement the worse it is in terms of performance and quality. There's been so many ladies pocket watches scrapped for this reason. That's not the case here. Rockford went full out with a very high-end and hard to make movement. So difficult in fact, they could only make 2900, which means that there is probably only 500 still out there. That is very rare in the world of pocket watches. This movement has stunning decoration and finishing with steel fire blued screws throughout, gold set jewels that are screwed in and a gold center wheel. There is an aging marks on the main plate, but it's nothing to be concerned about. This investment grade pocket watch can be worn as a pendant; although, this is heavier than mast ladies pocket watches. Still, it can be work with a necklace with no problem; long or short. If you want to tell time I would go with a long one. Anyhow, this is a piece that you probably won't see again. So, if you love it, you must have it. Thank you.
