I have done quite a bit of research on the Hamilton Perry from the 1930's, which were produced in small numbers for 4 years. It was relaunched in the 1940's with a completely different look. This Hamilton Perry is extremely rare because of it's 2-tone case, applied gold numerals on the dial and the use of the caliber 987A. From my research, the applied gold numerals were a catalogued special order, as this watch was normally sold with painted numerals. The 2-tone case with a white bezel, yellow body and white case-back all 14k gold filled is extremely rare. I have only seen two other examples and I believe they are either a prototype or special order and very few exist. The watch condition is good. The movement is clean and has been recently serviced. Furthermore, you see prior service marks which means the watch was well cared for. The dial is original with very nice blued steel deco style hands and 18k gold applied numerals. The case has wear on the corners on both the bezel and the case-back; however, it is minor. In the photos, it appears there is a large dent on the case-back - this is not the true, I use a high resolution camera and every flaw appears bigger. There is a tiny dent not even seen when glancing at the watch. You would really need magnification to see it clearly. This Early 1930's Perry is a large barrel shaped 6/0 with deco styling that wraps around the entire sides. Overall, this is a nice piece that is very rare; and I would consider it investment grade. It's not likely you will ever see a model like this again.
