Vintage 1958 Girard-Perregaux 14k Yellow/Rose Gold Plaque Pilot's Chronograph Valjoux 22
Here we have a great estate find. A fantastic looking 1950's Girard-Perregaux executed with the rare Valjoux 22 with box and papers as found. There is a high-quality German gold plated mesh bracelet on this watch with little wear; this watch also comes ready with a new genuine leather dark brown strap. It is very likely this watch; however, was sold on this mesh bracelet. The Valjoux 22 is a rare tough to find column wheel chronograph. The movement alone, in great shape and just serviced, is worth nearly the cost of the watch! That's how hard they are to find. The dial has been professionally restored to its original factory condition - the estate believes this was performed by GP during service. The crystal is a new replacement crystal. The dial is very handsome with a golden backdrop and sunken silver sub dials. As stated previously, this watch has been recently serviced and is keeping time within +30 sec/day. All chronograph functions work as they should and hands reset to zero. This is a great original piece to be enjoyed for generations with proper care. The case is a three piece 14k gold 20 microns plaque case in excellent condition. The reverse has no personal engravings; the camera shows some discoloration; however, in person I do not see it. Overall, this is a fantastic piece in excellent shape and ready to wear or collect. Everything seen in the photos is included in the sale.
