Unusual and Rare Vintage LeCoultre Memovox Pocket Watch Caliber K814 10k Gold Filled Case
Jaeger-LeCoultre made some interesting variations of the memovox for travel instead of a wrist watch, including a couple pocket type watches I've seen through the years. This pocket watch piece; however, I have never seen before - It must be very rare. The case is square with a well done bezel and stunning rope work around the edges of the square. A similar design was used in a handful of travel nightstand alarms that were integrated with leather. Attached is a claspe, ready for a chain as many pocket watches had in the form of a bail around the crown. Of course, this memovox doesn't have the usual crown you would see for a pocket watch. In fact, the designer geniously integrated to two crowns (one for winding and setting the time and one for the alarm) in the case. They work really well, easy to pull out and set and easy to wind; and best of all protected by the case. I tried to capture the crowns in the pictures and you can just see that these are original signed crowns. Overall, this unusual piece is certainly a great conversation watch and one that will go well with any serious pocket watch or memovox collection. Serviced March 2018 and running perfectly.
