This ladies JLC sports watch is extremely rare and we absolutely love it - you will likely not find another. The movement alone, caliber 833/1 automatic winding 17 jeweled extremely high grade is worth a lot of money as very few were made. However, the entire watch is really the prize. I believe it is part of the ladies Master Marine collection and is a Voguematic, indicating an automatic mechanical. I also believe that very few were made; likely just single or double digits. The watch is fabulous looking in person with its multilayer gray dial and red accents. Its original big crown, suitable for a sports watch, looks amazing and proportional and makes it easy to wind and set. The watch is entirely original and is near mint. The full stainless steel case has its original factory finish, the dial is untouched and perfect, the scalloped stainless steel bezel appears to be original gold plated with about half the plating gone. It appears that the plating is dissipating naturally as there is no real wear on the bezel. Plating over stainless steel causes this - eventually, all the plating will likely dissipate over several more years. This stands out in the pictures but does not on the wrist - I promise. It also allows for a silver or gold toned buckle if desired. In-person, it just blends in and has a slight yellow gold tone to the bezel. Moving on to the movement. Just serviced, the 833/1 is a rare bird. The 17 ruby jeweled ball-bearing automatic wind is very well finished including fire blued screws, has excellent amplitude and no beat deviations. Currently running -/+ 10 sec per day...very good considering the size and age. This movement is definitely chronometer grade. I've also noticed that the winding system is very efficient and fully integrated. This is something only Jaeger-LeCoultre can pull off; don't forget, they made some of the most prestigious movements used by Vacheron Constantin and other exclusive brands. The size of the watch is approximately 24mm across without including the crown, and 28mm lug to lug. The watch takes a 10-11mm strap, or a silk fabric or a NATO strap can be used depending on the look you want. Personally, I would put the highest-quality red alligator strap with a gold tone buckle. However, I am purposely selling the watch without a strap so you can pick out what you like best at your local jewelers (or choose a pre-selected one at check out). We are also a Hadley-Roma dealer, a premium American Made brand, and can get you any strap in their catalog. Overall, this is likely the cleanest and rarest example of a 1970's JLC ladies sports watch. This is an investment piece and should never lose value. This is our professional opinion and cannot guarantee future values. Thank you. Please note, ordering this watch with a strap option will delay shipping by about 1-2 weeks as these are custom order straps. If you do not want a delay, order without the strap and most local jewelry stores carry a large variety of straps to choose from. Best of luck - this should move fast and would make the perfect gift for a birthday or anniversary. Or just a gift because you're awesome.
