Vintage Longines 1959 Silver Dial Square Beauty in full Stainless Steel and Deco Style Cal. 23Z Movement
Wow this is really a stunning piece. I've included a photo with a flash because the white box washes out the silver and I wanted to make sure you knew this was a silver dial watch and not white. Keep in mind, I am taking these pictures at a hi resolution so when using a flash it will show off ever microscopic piece of dust or tiny scratch, but overall. I would rank this watch an 8 on a 10 point scale for overall condition and this does not consider any age spots on the original dial, which there are some - but many collectors prefer it that way instead of a refinished dial that may look perfect. The caliber 23Z introduced in 1953 by Longines started a legacy caliber evolution known for its reliability and toughness. Imagine that, a movement you can use in a sports watch and a spectacular deco-inspired dress or casual tank like this. And I think that is the last thing worth noting, this watch is extremely versatile and does great with a t-shirt or tuxedo. Size is a healthy 26mm square. Don't forget square watches are bigger than their round counterpart at the same size. Actually one more thing, this is an American market piece as the movements were finished with much more quality in USA calibers like beveled edges that their euro counterparts don't have. And one last thing if you will, it's rare to find a watch like this in stainless steel. It has high polished finishes all around and brushed back - factory original never re-done. In my opinion, this is the best watch for the cost on our site right now. Comes with a new Hadley Rome dark brown leather weaved strap.
