Much rarer than the Hamilton Model 23, Vintage 1944 WW2 Model 16-S by Waltham. This is a very rare Military Pocket Watch commissioned by the Ordnance Dept for a particular purpose which is demonstrated by the special military number on the back. The watch features a near perfect original Montgomery dial single sunk for the seconds. A very high grade movement with 17 jewels and 3 adjustments. Notice the lack of decoration like you would typically see on a consumer pocket watch. Instead, time and money was shifted toward the highest quality porcelain dial, a very well made movement which demands accuracy and the outlay of the dial. Very well executed Mercedes hands really make this watch stand out. Original separate dust cover is still with the watch. If you're a military watch collector, you probably already know, you've never or rarely have seen this watch. They are very hard to find, especially in this condition.
