The Rolex Speed King is rich with wartime heritage. Hodinkee published a great article about the Speed King here. Please take some time to read it by clicking the previous sentence. That said, these Speed Kings aren't easy to come by, especially in good condition like this one. This particular model has a beautiful cream/silver dial with gold painted indices. Boasting an early Rolex Oyster case this piece is far from delicate and measures in at about 30MM not including an original Rolex signed screw down crown. The original reference number and serial numbers engraved between the lugs of the watch are intact and the manual wind Rolex movement appears to be completely original. Although this watch comes on a plain matte black Hadley-Roma leather strap - it would look great on a variety of different straps. Please email us if you have specific strap requests and we will do our best to accommodate them. Overall, this is a great piece of Rolex history and one that you will rarely (if ever) see anyone wearing. This piece is appropriate for casual, fine casual and business attire. I should mention that this watch is a suitable over-sized watch for a woman and looks amazing on a dark purple or blue alligator strap.
