Rare and Beautiful Vintage 1970's Rolex Perpetual Oyster Date Ref. 1500 with an Automatic cal. 1570
This is one of the most impressive vintage Rolex I've had. Everything is original factory from the 1970s except for a replacement strap. The watch has been overhauled and finished just about a year ago from Rolex. The case edges are crisp and clean, along with the original crown, bezel, and crystal. This Rolex was made during a period of an absolute peek of new innovations from Rolex. Many believe the the calibre 1570 is the strongest and most reliable workhorse Rolex has made; and many collector agree. This watch has a stainless steel case with an 18k yellow gold smooth bezel and an 18k yellow gold crown. It is very hard to find a smooth bezel from the 70's - they were made in limited numbers. But the most shocking beauty is in the original dial. I'm not sure what color to call it; I believe it was originally champagne but over time an even patina has created like a combination of gold, rose and brown, but it's amazing together with the rest of the watch. I couldn't stand the boring light brown leather strap this watch came on even if it was new and nice; so, I placed a new $100 genuine crocodile black semi-gloss no padding and now it's deserving of wearing anywhere.
