Vintage Longines Wittnauer All-Proof Automatic Stainless Steel Men's Watch 17J 11AHS Vintage 1960's
This is a vintage mechanical wristwatch dating to circa 1960. This is beautiful, clean, and it looks fantastic on the wrist. This is in excellent condition. It was made by Longines' associate company Wittnauer. The watch runs well and keeps time. The time sets as it should. The case is full stainless steel and it is 31 mm wide not including the original "W" signed crown (very rare). It is 38 mm long to the tips of the lugs. The movement is a high grade Wittnauer caliber 11AHS2 and it has 17 jewels. This rarer movement has an offset oscillating weight like the Longines Grand Prize movement making it quite unusual signifying this was a special watch. The band is a new, good quality leather replacement. The total length of the watch is about 9 inches. This uses an 18 mm band which could easily be replaced if you prefer a different style or length. The crystal is clean and clear and has no scratches. The dial is very nice and is depicted accurately in the pictures; it is an original factory untouched dial. Please note that all pictures are taken on the macro setting. This makes even the slightest imperfections and specks of dust appear much more prominent though they are often not visible without magnification. The design of this case is not only spectacular, but unusual and very reminiscent to something Gerald Genta would design. Anyhow, this cannot be found for sale on the market right now so I imagine it's a rare piece. Cuff links do not come with watch.
