Early Omega Seamaster Automatic Front Loader Caliber 550 Original Rare Crosshair Dial Vintage 1960s
It's getting tough to find an early Seamaster with its original dial. Here we have a front loader caliber 550 automatic with a nice classic round case with straight lugs. The case has no notable flaws, the crystal is original and has minor scratches, the crown is original and perfect, the silver dial has signs of age. I will note and I'm picky, the dial looks much nicer in person - the camera picks up every little flaw that the eye doesn't see. The hands and markers are in good condition and retain almost all its lume material. Therefore, I fully believe the buyer of this rare Omega no date with cross hair dial will be pleasantly surprised. Wear it casual or wear it formal, this one comes with two straps for each occasion. It's just been overhauled and is running strong with about a +/- 10 sec per day deviation. Not bad for this old Seamaster! Unfortunately, during intake, my watchmaker got to it before me and I do not have pictures of the movement; however, the movement and caseback is guaranteed original. The watch measures approximately 34mm in diameter and has a one piece case which requires special tools to take it apart (opens through the crystal); many watchmakers are familiar with these cases which competed with Rolex during this era for water resistance. It's a stunning piece of history unmolested by anyone. A must have for any Omega aficionado.
