SOLD - Hamilton Langley Men’s Modern Deco Wristwatch in Solid 14K White Gold Vintage 1934 | Vintage Watch
Named for early American aviation pioneer Samuel Langley, the “Langley” was priced to consumers at $90.00 in 1934 and is very scarce, with only 2,640 produced in white gold and only a fraction of those have seemed to survive based on availability. In fact, the Langley is harder to find than the Otis or the Coronado. This example is in excellent condition showing only light to moderate wear and a few light marks. The Hinged case back is excellent and is not engraved - most surviving examples have personal engravings. The case measures 37mm long and 27mm wide. Its well aged luminous dial and hands are in excellent condition. This Langley has a new glass crystal and has been recently overhauled and running strong. This watch is powered by its correct 17-jewel Hamilton grade 987-F movement. This model is a great value considering it's rarity and with it's unique hinged back and classic design, the Langley is a must have for the collector or enthusiast alike.
