Mechanical (automatic) Phidias' are fairly rare to find as the majority were done in quartz. There were 5000 produced worldwide this is number 1206. At 35mm it is a great size and its thin profile due to it's fine movement makes the watch sit very nicely on wrist and appears larger than it is. This watch has an extremely fine and flawless original textured white dial and an 18k gold bezel. The bracelet is original to the watch and is stainless steel and 18k gold and fits up to a 7.5 inch wrist; in fact everything on this watch is factory original. If you desire this watch on a leather strap, it can be ordered as a custom strap - however I do not have one in stock that would fit the non-traditional lug fittings. The Phidias was conceived as the first VC sports watch which eventually evolved to the 222 and then the Overseas. Similar watches sold by Vacheron today would cost nearly $20k. This watch was just overhauled and is running at chronometer specs.
