A very unusual piece from the 1800s. This square locket is larger than most from the era and measures about 1 inch square and weighs approximately 12 grams. What is most unique about this locket is the mythological dragon applied on the obverse in solid platinum. The dragon is holding a .15ct old european cut diamond in its mouth. The diamond is an excellent quality of VS G. I would love to know the stories behind this locket; surely it is one-of-a-kind and belonged to someone with means and eccentric taste. Don't let this one pass you by.
