SOLD -Vintage 1940s WWII Bulova A-11 - type AF43 Pilot Aviator Hacking Seconds
A hack watch is a watch used on a ship's deck when taking astronomical sights for navigational purposes. Accuracy can be checked by comparing daily with the ship's marine chronometer. The use of a hack watch makes it easier to take sights, as the chronometer is normally in a fixed position in a ship – below decks and in gimbals to keep it level. Hack watches were also popular in aviation to perform critical timed maneuvers.
Here we have an authentic WWII Aviation Military issue Bulova Hack Watch. The watch comes on an era leather strap and is in excellent original and working condition. This watch measures approximately 32MM not including the original crown. The strap appears to be original to the watch.
