Scarce Bulova "Black Hawk" Designed for Doctor's 10K yellow rolled gold plate and stainless steel, circa 1942
The "Black Hawk" is identical to the Bulova "Surgeon" but has a two-tone black and white dial with luminous numerals instead of a silver dial with gold numerals. It was priced at $37.50 in 1942. It is a scarce model and this is the first I have ever offered. It is in very good condition showing only light brassing to the highpoints of the bezel and lugs. Caseback is excellent and unengraved. Case measures 35mm long and 25mm wide. Original two-tone black and white dial is very good, with some patina. Has new glass crystal. Watch is powered by its correct 17-jewel Bulova grade 10AX manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.
