SOLD - Awesome Watch with a Configuration of a Jump Hour but a Little Smarter Vintage 1960's by Endura
This watch by Endura, was a private label, who's parent company ended up eventually folding into the Swatch Group. This watch was made before that happened. Let me just get this one most important fact disclosed about this watch before you read any further,...it's 100%!+++ on the awesome factor. Honestest, if I could reach over far enough, to give a good pat on the back for the genius vintage watch / strap combo, I would. Already with that..now the watch. Please note that the red piece of fabric showing on the dial went unnoticed while taking pictures, it was just a time fabric that was on the outside of the watch - no worries with that. This watch is categorically a jump hour complication, it's undeniably looks like one, but technically there is another layer of complication. So let's start off by a quick refresh of what a jump hour looks like and does. The center hand is the seconds, the top window is the hour, the window one down from the center is the minutes and below that is the date (not all jump hours have date windows). The watch was dubbed the name jump hour, because the hour would "jump" over when a new hour occurs just like a date would at midnight. The central seconds and the min. window continuously run. They look like this in a round style, but most vintage examples were a more retro sort of chunky rectangle or square. Our watch, is slightly different in that the hour does not actually jump. The hour also continuously runs and shows a black and red version of each hour, to indicated night and day. Unbelievable! This watch is in about new old stock condition, it has a new Hadley-Roma genuine leather sports strap in red and black. It was serviced September 2018, runs excellent and keep great time. This Swiss manual wind measures 34mm in diameter w/o including the crown. This is great watch which can be worn with casual wear, but I think it will look best with business casual or what you might wear going out for the night; but I'll warn you, this is a conversation piece and it will draw attention, so if you're a d-bag, you may want to consider something else - this is a classy watch, I'll expect this watch will go quickly. Brevet hallmark and pat. pending numbers are on the case back.
