Antique ca. 1925 Longines Pocket Watch Size 16s
This is a beautiful Longines pocket watch ca. 1925. It appears to be a nickel / silver alloy case. This pocket watch has all the makings of a military issue watch; and there are comparables that were certainly ordered by the military. This piece is somewhat of a mystery. The engravings on the reverse appear official, numbered and with initials for whom / what it was issued for. I am still researching these markings; nonetheless, this is a great example of a 20's Longines utilitarian pin set pocket watch. The dial is nearperfect, the rare stepped case is in excellent shape as is the movement. I've contacted Longines to see if they have any further information; possible updates to follow.
The engravings on this watch remain a mystery; however, I did some research, and it may be tied to a South American Railroad Co. Response from Longines is below.
