I will hopefully be updating this listing soon to give the maker of this amazing watch the greatly due merit for its production. Dated to somewhere in the mid-1800's, this is a full hunter 2 oz coin silver case from an estate in which the pictorial matched what the owners estate looked like at the time of the engraving, which is presumed to be completed at or shortly after purchase.  Currently, as of July 30th 2018, the watch is in service for a general overhaul, at which point, we hope to uncover the makers name under the dial or plate, but since we do not have that quite yet, let's talk about the importance of this beautiful Swiss pocket watch. We've talked about the case, so let's move onto the dial. It is a porcelain dial, extremely well preserved and in perfect condition with no hairlines, cracks or chips noted. The roman numerals and hands are also in excellent condition and the entire dial is very well balanced and presented. Most interesting and what makes this watch very important, is the movement. The movement is of the highest grade found during this era. The arrangement of the bridges is not only genius, but also very aesthetically pleasing, technically practical beyond its age. No pocket watch expert has been able to identify it yet, we believe this is a very rare movement. Hand craftsmanship can be found throughout, such as the hand cut wolf teach winding wheels, bridge beveling and Geneva Stripes to name a few. It is also very unique in that this watch may be both stem would and set as well as key wound and set. The jewel count appears to be high, but we have not counted fully yet, we hope to accomplish this during service. The main plate appears to be full Perlage decoration by hand. So, my best guess is that this maker is Longines based on clues of the movement that resemble other more known production movements; but at the same time, there are more advanced elements of this movement not found in any other Longines movement I've seen. Hopefully that mystery will be solved soon. We could be looking at a completely different maker that took some inspiration from Longines. Nonetheless, the watch is special and is available for pre-sale now. I expect it to be out of service, and in inventory in the next couple weeks, so please note that this is not immediately obtainable. The listing will be updated regardless of it's availability once we know more. I will also caution, that the price may rise significantly once we have discovered the unknowns. Thank you.

8/1/2018: Confirmed Longines Very Rare Caliber with only about 100 known; full overhaul completed with new mainspring.
