Vintage 1912 E. Howard Boston Railroad Grade Triple Hinged Pocket Watch Size 16s
This is a near mint Howard Railroad Grade Pocket Watch with a flawless original porcelain dial and fire blued steel hands. But that's not why Howard made one of the best railroad watches of the era. The movement is magnificent; with stunning bridges, decoration and imprinting. For the exception of one or two; there was no other manufacturer that made beautiful bridges and plates like Howard and still maintained nearly modern chronometer specs. Most railroad watches are 3/4 plate. Also, this watch has a triple hinged 14k yellow gold filled case with no flaws noted and only very minor wear. There is a very well done personal engraving on the reverse cover as seen the the photos. These days, collectors like me welcome this to help establish provenance, but most important, to help determine the case is original since the market is now flooded with fake cases none of which have personal engravings. This watch is also rare - there are no reliable production numbers available which means production was low. Serviced and keeping excellent time. We hope you love this piece as much as wel do - thank you for looking.
