Vintage 1940's Lathin Watch Rare Regulator in Full Stainless Steel
Lathin produced some very nice watches in the 40's and 50's in small quantities. There is not much information available about the micro-brand; however, while researching, the watches I found were of very high quality like this rarely seen regulator. The Lathin Special is a 17 jeweled manual wind movement with regulator complication. The central hand sweeps seconds at usual, the top register tells the hours while the bottom tells the seconds. This is a fund watch to have because it is such an uncommon complication. The regulator complication was useful in some military applications from what I have read. The case in full stainless steel in in excellent vintage condition. The dial and crown appear to be original; the dial has not been refinished. An original dial on the piece is rare. The watch runs great, recently serviced and ready to wear or collect. The watch measures approximately 34mm in diameter and is presented on a good condition vintage calf strap.
