Vintage 1949 Hamilton “Wesley” Men’s Wristwatch Art Deco Design Wristwatch in Solid 14K Yellow Gold
Along with the “Brock” and “Donald” models, the “Wesley” was one of the most popular solid gold Hamilton wristwatches during the 1940s and 1950s. The “Wesley” has a massive case with large sharply angled lugs and was priced at $180.00 in the 1949. This example is in crisp, near mint condition, showing almost no wear. The case back is excellent and unengraved, with one minor dent. Case measures 41mm long and 24mm wide. Original dial is superb, has solid 18K gold applied numerals and markers. Hands show a few specks of tarnish. Has new glass crystal. This watch is powered by its correct 19-jewel Hamilton grade 982M adjusted manual wind movement, just serviced and running well. This movement is the great Hamilton medallion movement; recognized as one of the best American movements ever produced. If you're looking for a great vintage watch and prefer larger vintage watches, this is perfect.
