Waltham Official Issue Military Watch WWII Era; high-end 6/0-c 17 Jewel Manual Wind
This Waltham issue military watch with its original silver/cream dial with sub seconds is hard to find. There is not much known about Military Issue Grade WG in terms what its primary use was. It appears contracts for these watches were from WWII; the lack of serial number dating information makes the Waltham versions difficult to date. They were also specified in the issue order to not engrave US military inventory numbers, which is quite strange - all of these are issued without numbers on the caseback regardless of the maker. This leads me to believe the military, for some reason, did not want them identified to the person they were issued to. Possibly an intelligence watch. The piece is all original with large military crown no hacking seconds. We did not place a strap on this watch, you may choose a leather strap or no strap to customize yourself. I want to point out that this watch is completely original and has all its components. The dial is usually painted with lume numerals, however, small batches of applied numeral dials (like this one) are more scarce. Buyer beware, when shopping for this watch type outside of AdamVintage, you must be careful. Grade WG is not common. Years ago on Ebay, there was a couple sellers that flooded the market with counterfeit cases. The engraving on the back is a telltale sign of a problem...the counterfeit cases look slightly different. We guarantee our watches are original or your money back, so no worries here, I just want to help protect people from buying bad watches. This watch was professional served by our in-house master watchmaker March 2019.Thank you.
