Handsome LeGran Co. Men's Swiss Dive Watch in Full Stainless Steel 17 Jewel Automatic Vintage Watch ca.1970
LeGran, part of the Alstater Watch Company of New York aka Alsta, back when this watch was made. LeGran is a label belonging to Alstater; and unfortunately, like many other brands, we see this disappear during the quartz crisis. However, they were known to make great dive watches and recently reorganized and now is back on the stage. Let's instead focus on some of the cool characteristics, like the stunning dark aqua blue tritium dial. This is a lovely dive watch which makes great use of color and still remains classic looking. Other than the dial color, there is a couple other things I like about this watch; that makes is stand out from all the other forgotten names. I love the near flawless dark blue bi-directional bezel, nice action on the screw down crown, a full stainless steel case and generally uncommon watch put together with a decent 17 jeweled Swiss automatic movement. The watch is 36mm in diameter, not including the crown and 18mm between the lugs. The watch is presented on a good quality NATO style strap I happened to have - it matches all the colors of the watch and looks great. This watch was recently serviced in November 2018 and is in great running order. As far as the condition, there are superficial scratches on the watch and original crystal - nothing to write home about. Overall the watch is in excellent condition given its age and use.
