Here is a great example of a Navy Ship Chronometer Deck Clock, this one being produced just before WWI ca. 1907; and was very likely in use during WWI since these have a long life expectation. It's not too common to see Waltham Military Deck Clock and I am happy to see that they used probably one of their top 3 railroad grade movements, the Crescent St, in size 18s with 21 jewels, gold set jewels, excellent finishing and decoration. The watch was recently serviced and is keeping excellent time. The dial and brass and swivel are in excellent condition, the inside of the outer box is lined with a deep purple velvet, the box appears hand constructed and made of a hard wood either cherry or mahogany. There are some scratches on the box typical due to its age. Photos were taken with the watch glass crystal removed for better photos. That will be reinstalled. This is a lever set watch/clock and the bezel has a nice design to get that job done. The dial and movement are near perfect with no defects noted. We are leaving a military reference on an early piece of tape for the inner box; if you wanted it off it would be very easy. Overall, this is an excellent high end example of a Military Navy Ship's Deck Chronometer; and at a good value, as these less common ones are demanding several thousand.
