Antique ca. 1903 Hamilton Railroad Approved Pocket Watch cal. 940 21 Jewels
Here is a wonderful early railroad approved Hamilton pocket watch size 18s. This pocket watch features a factory hand-engraved locomotive on the case-back; this is a highly sought after type of case. The movement is running strong, keeping good time and was serviced July 2019. This beauty has a nice white porcelain double sunk dial with some light hairlines around 4 o'clock, even so, the dial is very pleasing. There is some light brassing on the case from wear. It is obvious this watch was well cared for but also worn frequently by its original owner, so you do see an average amount ofwear on this watch. Overall, this Hamilton railroad pocket watch is a very nice example of a locomotive engraved gold filled case type along with a great high-jeweled railroad approved movement that will last many generations as long at it's well cased for. This watch will make a great gift for the railroad aficionado or watch collector alike.
